Hey from DC/VA

Hey Now! Thought I'd say hello. I've been creeping the board for a while and so far Im into it. I live in Northern VA on the RF&P and started getting into the train hopping world by randomly getting a job working on the DC metro system, seeing boxcar art and hearing co workers talk about life in heavy freight. I haven't hopped just yet, but Im continuing to gather intel to ride this fall or next summer. Its pretty amazing what you can learn from open source research and listening to train radio. Also, as a weird way to find out whats going on is using Railfans and their OCD to find out schedules, patterns ect. Other than that, Im into photography, weed and punk rock. If anyone is around my area hit me up and i'll take your picture.

Ya railfans have tons of knowledge but are generally anti train riding and are quick to call the railroad police. Assholes!
Anyways, welcome to the site! Have fun and don't let your meat loaf!;)
 
I'm in Virginia Beach now, but leaving out of Richmond in Oct. I'm down to talk trains, smoke stuff, and grab a beer. I haven't hopped out, but I am an old writer. I know my way around a yard and how to not get dead. Welcome to StP, take care!
 
I just wonder why someone who mentions they'll photograph someone else wouldn't show their own photo of themselves, not like one should, just call me paranoid, but then again I shouldn't be the one to talk since im not Vincent price and im not showing who I am anyways,

Wow, First let me thank you for elaborating on your comment on me being shady. Yes, I will take a photo of you but only if you give me permission. I used that statement in the same way one might say, "hit me up and I'll buy you a beer". I also agree with your paranoia, we live in a fucked up and weird world and both post on a message board about doing something illegal. So why not show some discretion? But to at least show good faith to the community that I will indeed take your photo as a friendly gesture and that I am not shady, I can offer some of my other photos here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/thededicatedphotography/

I'm I'm in Maryland going to Nova today, I'd love to drink a beer and for you to take pictures of my husband and I! :)
