So I picked up a pair of German bibs for a really good deal. They are supposed to be their version of gortex.Just wondering if anyone has used them or has heard anything about them.

I have a full set of german cortex gear ranging from pants to pack, they seem to be of comparable worth as they held up in flash flooding in NOLA a few months ago. I find them to be of similar quality.

I don't have experience with the bibs, but all genuine Bundeswehr equipment that I've used is high quality and very durable. The sizing and cut of the pants can be a little goofy.

Yeah, that's true. Had BW boots, bdu like pants, backpack. Durable and comfortable. Would like to have some of those again in the future.

And of course I had the full BW gear as I served in the Y-Company for 10 months.

Got to try my bibs out this morning and worked great but need more then a pair of pj's underneath to walk to the store.Keeping my eyes on a pair of flectarn pants,if your in the US Hessian antiques has some decent prices on their gear.

My favorite piece of goretex is my Austrian army goretex jacket. Never get clammy in that thing and I paid like $20 for it. Also have some German army gaiters for work coming up that i'm sure will be great.

In my understanding, goretex is simply a name, but the actual material goes under a lot of other names with slight differences to avoid lawsuits.
