Ego tripping with the phrase "my girlfriend" or "my boyfriend"

that's some PC bullshit. grow up and stop taking things so damn seriously.

i can see this all from all points of veiw... i understand how referring someone as "mine" is seemingly egotistic and in humane... but i have had this little 5 word intro to actually save my live or keep me out of trouble.
 
This thread seems like some chan shit to me.

But usually when a woman I've recently met decides to mention or introduce "her boyfriend", I usually interpret that as nice way of her saying "Hey fucko, quit hitting on me, I'm taken". Never really considered it a possessive thing.
