I ride trains.
Been at it a while.

Riding a train is easy.
Navigation and solving yards is 95% of riding trains.
It takes a couple years to get the system down.

Yeah it seems that way, there's alot to learn. I've been really interested though, looking at some sites with interactive maps of all the railways and train yards near me and where I'd like to go. Also watching the videos trainhoppers post on YouTube. It's all really cool.
