East Coast / NC / TN / VA dispersed camping

Heya lovely folks,

I'm living up in Nova Scotia, planning a road trip in my hatchback with my sweet puppy down through Maine to spend time in the Ashevile, NC, TN, VA, & Atlanta, GA areas. My trip is pretty flexible and I am primarily seeking to connect with like-minded individuals & anarchists, land projects, book stores, rad things, as well as explore the nature in the Appalachian area. I'm wondering if folks are able to report on experiences dispersed camping, finding slivers of national forest to pitch a tent for the night. I'd also love to connect with anyone along the way who is open to meeting a stranger/musician/poet/photographer/book nerd/surrealist human.

The Appalachian trail and areas all around it have tons of places , one of my favorites is Rogers MTN in VA, wild horses roam the area

Some camping all over those parts. I sm about 3 hrs north of asheville in one of a kind WV. decent shelter that always needs some work/attention. I moved here woth the hopes of growing/mending the community and the hopes are still there.
