Nice!!! And I get that all the time from my co-workers when they find I'm out alone on the bike for a few days, plus I prefer to run at night, etc etc. I figure these people have never left their comfort zone and done anything in their ultra ordinary lives. At least my Mom doesn't chime in anymore about when she learns of my plans ...

i get discouraged from traveling alone ALL THE TIME. from my family, friends, acquaintances, and from tons of strangers who think i'm some helpless confused girl who needs to be saved. it's really frustrating, and it's mostly from people who haven't traveled the way i have and don't really know what they're talking about.

hopefully someday those folks will break out of their protective bubbles and take some risks.
