Everybody has an ass and not everybody can wipe it. I see CL posts all the time in the larger cities for adult caregivers. You can take your skills on the road easily and turnover is high. You can get right back into it whenever you like, I suppose.
In the meantime, make a little plan and have fun with it.

I think caring for those unable to care for themselves because of age or sickness is one of the most powerful and meaningful things humans do. I think you should get more from society for caring for those people. In time I think it will be recognized as having been one of the most important things any of us did.
