A printout of a webpage. Good article, plus the sole can be removed once its worn, or a second sole can be added for more resilience/comfort.

That's easy, if there's enough meat there to hem it sew it right to the base of the rubber lip, or even the sole of the shoe if that rips out, it'll last you a few more months if not a year if you do it right. If you can't hem it, stitch some exess fabric over it and hem that.

Just picked up a new bag this January, alps mountianering external frame. Million times more comfortable theny old 3 day assault bag (which had more stitches in it from me then the manufacturer) , and alot easier to get at things now w.o the zippers and large compartments.

Strap it down till the epoxy dries that is.

If you want good results and not to have to do it again its gonna take some sewing, take a rip and cut it back until there's enough meat to grab on and sew in a patch, the rubber along the top outside of the sole will hold a thread pretty log I you go deep enough, always use synthetic threads...

For those with a bivy and hook it to your bag externaly, how do you prevent rips and tears? I just bought one for what seems like more then j shoulda had to pay (mind you I also got a sick jacket for free in the deal aswell so meh..) and id really like to not have it rip or tear on me..
