    WESTERN MERRLIND! Frederick's alright. It's a shame it turned into Montgomery County lite in that last few years though, but Harpers Ferry (one of my favorite all time B&O ridin' moments) is right there across the Potomac and the mountains sho is purty as pie.

    We walked all the way through. The ending was pretty abrupt. They get a little creepy once you get to that staircase to nowhere and the grates letting a little light in.

    Dropped off on Bridge Street under the inbound overpass, staying in the shadows past the bright lights of the South departure yard. Intermittent drizzle and 8 hours of waiting. Junk heading east, two NJ bound double-stacks at once, nothing for 4 hours, not even the screech and bang of humped...

    However, as a former Marylander who lives in New York state. I would recommend I-83 (North from Baltimore) up to Harrisburg and then over to I-81 (headed North towards Binghamton Ny,) straight up to Syracuse. It's way more direct.
