True. Moving around in general as a way of life is the best way to stay in shape. If you want to add some weight training/strength building taking a half hour a day for jogging/calisthenics is dope. Find a park or a tree and do some pull ups. Use whatever is around you. Play. Do parkour.
Couchsurfing, in my experience, in Europe is off the chainnnn. Super easy, people were pretty rad and just heaps of folks to choose from practically everywhere. Goodluck though.

As long as you don't hitch on the highway I feel like it is fine. Usually that's when it's illegal. I have been harassed by cops, but it was just a smack on the wrist kind of thing. I have seen many hitch under hitchhiking is illegal signs on Vancouver Island.
