    Cargo Box Houses

Yeah that is a terrible looking place. But I first got into the idea when I watched the movie Tron Legacy back in 2010 when it showed Sam Flynn go to his house. I've been hooked on the idea since then.

    Cargo Box Houses

I've been looking into these for the last 5 years. Pretty cheap to buy and build compared to a traditional home. Even cheaper if you can do it all yourself.

    Bushcraft Shelter?

So during my travels, when I find a place I would like to stay, I am going to go into the woods and build a shelter. I was going to dig about 3-4ft down and then build a moss roof and just try to conceal it as much as possible. My question is, has anyone tried something similar to this? If so...

    wool or microfleece blanket?

Go wool. They are a bit heavy, but are much better. Only downside is They can get pretty dirty and they stay wet for a while, but will always stay warm. At the moment I have two wool blankets and I use a fleece blanket as a liner.

Behold! Everyone! The Fjallraven waxed cotton bedroll!

Bedrolls are pricy, and I really want one. But for a $20 wool blanket (I have 2 that are 80% wool), a $30 6x8 canvas tarp and $15 for a bar of otter wax (otter wax because it's more natural and less chemicals) you can make your own bedroll.

    Keeping warm in a tent.

If your gonna bum out in the woods, you should do it right. Haha But get on YouTube and search "Primitive Technology" that guy is awesome at what he does and can show you ways to build a shelter both long term and short term with literally nothing to start with and end up with a "master piece"

    Hello From Texas!

Not really. I usually stay in DFW. Unless I go camping, which I'm doing next week at Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma. Other than that I'll go up north to PA or OH or WA to see family or friends for a few weeks.

Disappearing and leaving your life behind?

Ha I know how you feel. I currently make $16.68 an hour, 40-48 hours a week. The paychecks make me want to never leave, but I know I must do what I feel I have to do. And as soon as tax season is over I will leave.

Disappearing and leaving your life behind?

I'm kind of in the same boat. I just posted a thread or whatever, but I'm pretty sure mid next year, if not sooner, I'll be gone. Most likely never to return. I'm currently buying camping gear for long term and taking weekend camping trips to test out gear and to figure out what I will or...
