Yeah I have heard Barefoot Surrender, they are one of the good ones. I really don't like most folk punk to be honest. Too many whiny voices and stupid lyrics, but there are a few that I like.
I listen to older folk mainly, a lot of original banjo like Smiley Hobbs, Kenny Miller, Junie Scruggs, Oren and Snuffy Jenkins, and Dick Rittler. It's so fucking amazing how good those guys are at the banjo.
Mischeif Brew is at the top of my list easily along with Broken Half, 2nd St. Rag Stompers, Blackbird Raum, The Curse Is Cast, Devil Makes Three, Hail Seizures, and Black Death Allstars.
I like a lot of anarcho-techno kind of music like Attack Attack Attack, Click Click Boom, and Wingzar! and of course punk and metal.

Oh man you have to go to Denver! It's such a sweet place. There is a lot of cool places to couch surf and a Food Not Bombs that is really well organized. There is a lot of awesome dumpsters too aha
But yeah you should definitely hit up Folk Life. I'm not sure how it's going to be this year because Seattle has been having some police brutality issues, but it should be okay. It's always really fun. Last year Black Death Allstars, Blackbird Raum, Dandelion Junk Queens, and Hail Seizures all played some awesome shit.

Living in Avon Colorado. I'm moving out of the place me and my guy have been renting in a couple days and living with his parents in Denver so I can get my license and GED. Then when May comes around we're headed back to Seattle for Folk Life. And after that we're hopping to the East.

I'm actually not living in Seattle any more. After I ran away to go traveling with the guy that I'm now dating I've been spending a lot of time in Colorado. We've been living together in Avon, but I'm going down to Denver after my birthday on the 22nd to get my GED and drivers license.

I'm not going to the gathering but I'll be at Folk Life. I think it will be a lot better. Folk Life is so much fun!

You should dip and go to Oregon or something, the people are nice and there is a lot to see. Plus hitching, flying signs, and walking on the highways are all legal so there is less shit the cops can snag you for.
