I just read a bunch of his articles. I agree with Aubrey de Grey about a healthy lifestyle, but I think its little unsetlling to strive for a longer life. I mean, I'm almost 23 & I'm tired! Hahaha. Ok.....EVERYONE has had a difficult/damaging childhood. NO ONE is guaranteed happiness, the only thing that's guaranteed is death. Life IS pain, but not unpleasurable. Its a huge paradox. I LOVE being alive, I love having experiences/lessons, no matter how painful. But yeah this shit gets old. I wouldn't want to live long enough to see people I love die or suffer. Agreeeed!!! I love that movie too. Darren Arnofsky is my favorite. So brilliant! The end makes me cry everytime I watch it. Sorry to get sappy but thats the ONLY movie that makes me bawl like a queer. Fucking incredible.

Thanks, I'll search for ebooks on the topic. I've searched around quite a bit - not ebooks, but other seemingly relevant sites and search terms - and not found a whole lot. Do you know of any wilderness that is close to Denver, Arizona, or California that are squat-able?

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but personally I see no problem with purchasing a Derrick Jensen book. He's not a pop writer - he needs the money. And for me the tactile aspect of holding a book while reading it is a necessary component of reading. There's the environmental aspect in that books use trees, but I think its negligable as compared with the harm certain large corporations are doing to the environment, so I dont really feel guilty about it. I do, on the other hand, feel guilty about not doing enough to resist this crazy culture. Oh and yes, I saw End:Civ and found it interesting, engaging, and motivating, albeit not overly informative (offered nothing new).

I don't hate Jones as much as you it seems - he's totally a sensationalist, he exaggerates extensively, he's a bigot, he's a nationalist, all total bullshit - but every now and then you can get something of value from his site or words if you are very careful and selective. He still has convinced a ton of people that the official version of 911 is a fraud, which is at least good to some degree.

And glad (if that's the right word) to hear that you know 911 was bullshit but are also not an Alex Jones fan. There are too many constitutional libertarians like Jones that know the official story is a fraud, and not enough anti-establishment folks, anarchists, those with other political persuasions that recognize this. Or maybe they are simply less visible because Jones is more organized and effective at gathering a following. Honestly, as much as I hate some aspects of Jones' ideology, his website infowars.com is still worth checking in my view because it often has the latest news on the escalation of the surveillance state, police brutality, etc, often linked from other websites, and often without a reactionary bias. contd on next post/comment

Right on. I picked up a great book from Boarders a few weeks back and was so enthralled with the photos of heavily tattooed people from decades past. While I don't feel they were readily accepted, at the very least society was curious enough to pay a small fee to check out the work. Even tattoo artists traveled the carnival circuit during the warmer months as a way to reach new clients, which to me pre-dates tattoo conventions. They still hang up banners advertising themselves/their shop, which is totally right out of the sideshow.

That's kind of ridiculous. It's always been my opinion that when engaged in a relationship, you love each other as is. There's no picking and choosing, b/c then how you do really love someone for who they are?

Much thanks for the compliment and kudos. It's not been an easy road to travel, but I don't regret any of the choices I've made with my mods. People so easily forget that some practices have existed for hundreds of years, and will not hesitate to readily pass judgment on others solely based on appearance. They also fail to realize that simple things such as cutting/dying hair or shaving is a form of body modification. A lot of my motivation is inspired by tribal cultures and that they revere mods as symbols of beauty and status, and also stems from the heavily tattooed sideshow attractions from the '20s. It's amazing that there were once several hundred people who sported large works of tattooing - usually by one artist - and got paid to show it off.
