i'm from iowa, right on the mississippi river along the iowa/illinois border. ive lived in both states actually. but yah ive been to haight a couple times... i definitely plan on going back there while im out there... the midwest blows

yeah, austin is the shit. haven't been there in a few yrs though. i did most of my traveling in my late teens and early 20's. i definitely haven't experienced everywhere yet.. shit, haven't really even touched the surface as far as the places that i would like to go! i really want to thru-hike the PCT and the CDT, but treks like that take a lot of money and planning. i did the AT not too long ago and wouldn't have made it without foodstamps and a LOT of carrying cash (like $600 for supplies and stuff if something breaks). if you come thru ga on your way to fl, you should let me know. i'm in macon at the moment and have made lots of friends by taking in fellow travelers for a few days.

nope. haven't been past tx without a car or plain. i'm a housie too right now. i feel like i'm getting too old for this shit (for the time being). i need to think about a long term career so that when i do really settle somewhere, i'll have a back-up plan. i have friends that have lived in sf though. they said i'd love it. my gf lived in la, santa barbra and ojai for several yrs and wants to go back to sb one day. i think i'll like it from what she's told me.
so, where ya traveling after the holidays?
