  • Warning! Lawmakers, in Florida, passed bill 621 unanimously; giving police the right to immediately remove squatters. It also makes it a felony for anyone to do $1000 damage or more to the property. Governor DeSantis is "set to sign in new law" soon.

Found this in se Kansas, 20 or so miles west of joplin mo. BIG Brutus, a decommissioned coal shovel left from the 70s when they used to strip mine the area for coal. Now it's a museum and wildlife wetlands area. It's as tall as a 15 story building, weighs 11,000,000 lbs and its bucket could lift 90 square yards of material or about 120 to 150 tons. It could move at .2 mph max.

Thanks @Matt Derrick , the place is called The pinnacles, it’s about 7 1/2 miles south of Wall SD, or just north of the west entrance to Badlands NP, by some radio towers. Still getting used to the teardrop (it’s so much better than a tent) if I drive 55 I get 27 1/2 to 28 mpg. At 65 it drops to 24.5 and at 75 I get about 21 - 22. The teardrop only weighs 800 lbs, because it does not have the galley on the back, but that means it’s a full 8 foot long inside so theres plenty of room for a tall person to stretch out inside. Got a 10x10 pop up canopy that I can put up over it so I can have shade anywhere I camp (Keeps the trailer much cooler) but will be adding a window air conditioner soon so I can head to the south west in comfort.
Heading west from lincoln nebraska to Colorado Springs tomorrow morning either on i80 or dropping south and taking i70. Then headed west on highway 50 through co to grand junction and on to moab UT the next day. After that Heading south towards 4 corners. Room for 1 maybe 2 if anyone needs a lift . I can vear off of my course to pick up or drop off.
I can’t post the link , maybe someone else can, but cops in San Jose California busted a crime ring run out and of a homeless camp and found an underground bunker, built along the banks of a stream. It contained an estimated $100,000 worth of stolen construction site tools and other stuff including 3 shotguns. Pictures of the bunker looks like it was made well and was fairly hidden. Now authorities are worried that other homeless camps may be doing the same. Just another excuse to go after the homeless.
Just saw that the tenent in the Oakland ghost ship squat fire plead guilty to 36 counts of manslaughter in return for a 12 year prison sentence. Such a sad fucked up mess
American Experience, on PBS, has one episode on Emma Goldman the anarchist political activist and writer (early 20th century) ! Did not expect them to cover her life, so glad to see this. It’s on the pbs website if anyone is interested.

I was wondering when that was going to happen. After all the fucking rescues up there in Denali with all the armchair warriors trying to find it.
I just read a story about “safe park La” they have 8 parking lots in the Korea town area for car dwellers. They even have a on duty security guard to watch over each lot so folks don’t got hassled ! It seems like a good deal. If it works maybe other places will follow their example
