Hey woodstack, I am new to the site. Currently on a cross Canada bike ride in Nelson heading to Revelstoke. Looking to jump my first train to get to Banff. Looking for tips and ideally a riding companion for my first jump any tips?

Oi mate! I'm lookin for a roaddog for the first week of may. Gonna hop out of poco and head east. You interested in some trekkin?

Naw I was on the 53 when we got pulled off, just outside of Salmon Arm but luckily not too far from the highway, the guy just told us to hitch.
I'm actually back in poco right now, got back from Nelson yesterday, am going up to the farm I was staying at in 100 mile house for a few days then heading to the east coast for the summer.
You got any travel plans?

Yeah Mang, I took the advice of those I asked (including you!) and hopped out of Boston Bar to Kamloops, the got pulled off by the cops riding from Kamloops to Revelstoke, no ticket or anything so it was alright.
First time I was alone and a unit pulled up right in front of me, fucking luxury!
Second time was on a 53, my dog was sketchy about it so I'm not sure how many more times I'll be trainhopping, depends if the pooch gets more comfortable or not. It was a fuckin grand adventure though!

I am too, just used to hang out around southside alot. How many years where you there? I was raised around the north part of shaunessy street, went to Terry Fox for a year before I dropped out.
