I see in your profile you know LA Push so you probably don't need my advice but Cle Elum, Roslyn, and Ronald are all good to go places in the Summer. There's a cool mellow crowd, a local semi-redneck crowd, then the out of town visitors who come over on weekends. People mingle between groups fairly well.

Winter is mostly over now--the trees are starting to bud and I've seen ducks and geese of all kinds flying North. I'm near Oly. Thurston County Food Bank in downtown Oly has a 'no turn away' policy. I suggest Oly as a landing spot as you guys might be safer to begin your journey about the PacificNW. Be safe in your journeys.
