  • I see in your profile you know LA Push so you probably don't need my advice but Cle Elum, Roslyn, and Ronald are all good to go places in the Summer. There's a cool mellow crowd, a local semi-redneck crowd, then the out of town visitors who come over on weekends. People mingle between groups fairly well.

Oi thanks for the tip! That sounds just right for us. Probably will aim for Oly first so we have a nice soft landing in the area. I lived there for a bit a couple years back but found the traveler population to be a bit stand-offish. We're also considering WOOFFing in the area for a bit. More than thrilled to get on the road though. Never seen the area in spring and can only imagine it's breathtaking.
Winter is mostly over now--the trees are starting to bud and I've seen ducks and geese of all kinds flying North. I'm near Oly. Thurston County Food Bank in downtown Oly has a 'no turn away' policy. I suggest Oly as a landing spot as you guys might be safer to begin your journey about the PacificNW. Be safe in your journeys.

You guys make it up here yet? What route you taking? There's also a food bank in Vancouver WA called 'Fish' and a few other places. Cops are running transient free folk out of Seattle lately. Just a heads up.
