I grew up in suburban south ATL. Never fit in in the suburbs. I stayed till I was 24. I sold everything I owned for $200 in 04. I actually met someone on this site in its early days, and traveled to FL to go train hop with them. Made it to New Orleans, stayed awhile and left ended up going to Alaska fish processing. I spent the remainder of my 20s and well into my 30s travelling with no money usually. I spent alot of time in Seattle. Worked in alot of restaurants. Where I grew up, I knew nothing of punk or anarchist culture. I lived alot of shitty times in my travels, and nearly died from drugs a few times but I can say this. It was worth it all. I would have died a slow death where I grew up. I hate the machine. I believe all government is the root of all bad. I have a fairly comfortable life now, and more money than I've ever had. I miss my backpack and sleeping on my friends floors back in the day way more though.
