So I wish I could talk to you more about bluegrass, but my field of knowledge is more in old-time, which is very similar, yet very different. As far as bluegrass goes, all I know of is Bill Monroe, and Earl Scruggs. However, with old-time, I could rattle off a million different banjo and fiddle players, if you'd like. With old-time, the best thing to do is listen to old-time fiddle on youtube.com, or go to juneberry78s.com
Richmond isn't a very good place to busk. Cary St. is shitty, downtown is worse (unless you hit up the lunch and dinner crowd in the bottom.) I mean, it's an awesome city, but it's much easier to fly signs there. You're in Hampton Roads, Virginia, it says on your profile...what's it like there? I've never kicked it there.
