Hello, my name is Matt! I'm pretty introverted, but I' also a really easygoing and adventurous guy who loves the regional experience that comes with a nice healthy dose of cultural immersion, local cuisine, nature/wildlife treks, and getting off the beaten track for a little self-guided tours and/or urban exploration. I have recently been hitchhiking around the USA and would like to continue my travels south of the border. I'm currently raising up some money in San Antonio, TX to take a bus into Mexico City, which will likely take place during the first week of September 2014. From there, I plan to travel through South America via Central America...or at least to keep heading that way until I make it as far as I can get. As I do not know anyone personally who has had firsthand experience living in Mexico, this is uncharted territory for me. I would like to get an insider's perspective of the country/city to help immerse myself in the culture, but I wouldn't mind joining up with someone who is also new to the area. I have been slowly practicing my Spanish, and it would be very helpful to have someone fluent in the language to practice with, but I have no problem with wingin' it!
