I like to travel. I've been doing that now for the better part of fourteen years. Yeah I'm not feeling younger when I write that! I've traveled in vans, buses, hitched and ridden a few trains. I also love to read almost anything that I can get my hands on although I'm partial to nonfiction political stuff. I'm very interested in organic gardening/permaculture and love to plant shit anytime I'm in a place long enough to get stuff into the ground. I also occasionally write or contribute to informational type zines. I'm very addicted to music. I have a fiddle that I don't play very well, also a banjo that I can barely play, a washboard and a set of wooden spoons. I wish I could find someone to learn to play from more but it seems like they all want money for "lessons" and I don't learn well the way most try to teach it so I just go around to the festivals and open jams trying to learn as best as I can. I like some folk music and lots of folk punk bands. And I love classic rock but the concerts are way out of my price range. I originally grew up near Portland but I don't call it home. I do periodically end up back there though. I left Portland in 1995 and have lived in South Dakota, Arizona, and North Carolina besides Oregon and have traveled through every state except Hawaii. I've also lived for shorter periods in Virginia and Wyoming. Western North Carolina is the longest that I've stayed in a place during the last 14 years. I finished college there. That was pretty much wasted money(but at least anthropology is one of those degrees that you can do absolutely nothing with and have it not be a complete waste). I prefer to live out in the woods. I like people but they get on my nerves if I spend too much time in large cities and I definitely start getting cranky when I've spent too long in/or near town. I can be very introverted and and at times very shy until you get to know me and chances are you won't get to know me if you meet me in a large city. Ok, I think that's enough about me.
