you can also get ones that are little nozzles you put in a water bottle, which would probably be better for travel without a vehicle.

I always like to carry comfy clothes for bed time.

Sweat pants, socks, and an oversized sweater.

Been thinking about getting one of those sweet self inflating sleeping pads too.
I don’t go out into the wilderness much anymore, but it’s always on the back of my mind.
 
Good coffee.

Volunteering with Food Not Bombs I always tried to get us donations from local roasters. It gave me a lot of satisfaction making sure folks down on their luck we're getting fresh roasted $15/lb in the winter, and I ground the beans myself every morning just to make sure the free anarchist coffee was the best pour in the city on Saturday.

I'll drink the cheap shit if I'm offered a cup because I'm polite and appreciate when people offer me their hospitality. When times are tough a good cup of coffee seems like the most endorphins for the dollar. A small pour over style stainless steel mesh, a cup and an alcohol stove is a lot of space in the bag not to mention the pound of grounds.

If I'm off the caffeine, a real nice herbal tea brewed at double strength is a good substitute.

The thing with the self inflating ones is that they will take up more space than the 100% air inflated pads. Although they usually provider a thicker feeling and are good if you sleep on your side. I have a Thermarest Apex and it’s great (although I don’t use it much). If you get an all air one you should get a repair kit (basically adhesive swatches to seal holes, duct tape works too in a pinch).

Your post makes me think I should try using it more to relax, maybe I‘ll try putting it in my hammock today.
 
For those interested in using a bidet, google backpacking bidet. You will find the ones that simply slide into a standard plastic bottle opening.
 
Big Foot solar battery pack. heavy but reliable. OR therm-a-rest fold up pillow, I can't decide. the battery pack is a bit more on the essential side for wilderness/gps stuff so if absolutely necessary, I'd toss the pillow
 
...my Ontario knife company (okc) SP-53 , a quarter inch thick firewood processing mechine. One of my favorite camp tools , it and my MSR stove (for making coffee).

You can buy pretty inexpensive air pillows that pack small and weigh next to nothing.
