Has anyone spanged for a flight?

Serious question, i have the money for a ticket from Portland to little rock, with winter coming quick and a dog to think about, seriously considering it. I would just have to get a companion animal letter and rabies shots and a carrier for a large dog. . . . . all doable within a week. No shit posts, just relavent shit. .
 
so what exactly is the question here? are you looking for people to relate their spanging experiences or asking for advice on whether you should go south or not?

Sorry Matt, my question was intended to be if anyone has ever flown a sign or spanged in order to purchase a ticket elsewhere? Is it frowned apon to fly to fly? Will it make me a bitch in the misfit traveler community, not that i care about the latter. . . sorry for not posting in a more comprehensible way Matt. Il work on it in the future

Why should it?

Seriously, spange for whatever you want. There are people who make a lot of money on the streets and then spend it for drugs (which is okay for me if that's what they want). Why shouldn't it be okay to spend the money for a flight?

I often spent money I made on the streets for (bus/coach) tickets. So what? :)
 
never done the bus thing in the US but I'm assuming people are going to tell you to do that instead for 2 reasons

1. less money and therefore less time flying a sign (i know there are exceptions to this but oregon to arkansas in a pinch is probably cheaper via bus than plane)

2. easier to transport your dog (again total assumption that there are any busses that allow pet transport but i think it'd be a lot less traumatic for the dog too)

It depends. You can get really cheap flights. For example Bristol (UK) to Cologne (Germany) for € 9.99 with only hand luggage and about € 50 if you have a big bag. (Strange, isn't it? You pay more for the luggage then for yourself). Same journey on bus would be like 8 + 25 = 33 Pounds/Euros.

Here, pets (except guide dogs) are not allowed in coaches. So friends with dogs had always to jump the trains (too expensive to pay for in UK).
 
Im pretty sure they arent letting large dogs on anymore as service animals unless you are actually blind or something, a lot of ppl abused that system and had their very poorly trained “service” animals behave badly and ruin it for everyone

Yep. As I was talking about service dogs ... imagine an elderly woman with a proper trained dog (and proper papers), for example. A punk with a dog who just has a help dog coat on would not be accepted. ;)
 
I would have her muzzled and boots on and everything if i flew. Greyhound doesn't do dogs at all. . been riding greyhound for 27 years since i was 2 or 3. . . I'm probably just going to have to hitch. . . itjust going to be to much hassle with the papers getting them in order with a shity phone.

I just feal bad begging when i have 300 sewn into my clothes, I dk. Im new to flying. I must say, after 2 months on the streets, it feals real good having some cash.

First: it doesn't matter. Other people would spend 300 in two days on drugs.

Second: feels good to have some cash? I always felt good having no cash. ;) And then made a few quid for my drinks and so on. Mate, it's only money!
 
Southwest allows "carry on" pets, ie: small enuf to fit under the seat in front of you...
 
I have a relative who's a tweaker; someone bought her a flight ticket to go to a family event and she somehow traded it so someone for METH AT THE AIRPORT. WTF???
