Saw this on a forum. Takes up more space than spray and the reviews make me believe it is effective but unreliable. Has anyone used something like this?

Not a bad idea i use military bug repellent but another way to keep em off is never a bad thing
I use a thermacell a lot when camping here in TX. They are great especially if you don't like to spray chemicals on your skin. Drawbacks are you have to keep plenty of the butane cartridges and pads with you and change them a few times within the night and they can get costly.
I was camping overnight in an RV park the other day and this dude rolls up with a full backpack exterminator kit to spray around his RV, he's like "if you smell something weird in a minute, this is why". Some people go all the way, man. I just have some DEET, but i only spray it in extreme emergencies. Most of the time i think it's better to just get in the tent.
