I'm afraid things like this are going to get out of control, and fast. There will be lawsuits for years, people getting jailed, travelers harassed, and more. The potential for abuse is off the charts.

Every traveler will need to keep a really close eye on state and local laws that are enacted on this for the foreseeable future. Stay alert, informed and safe!

I agree... and it's an executive order, so it's going to be awful to navigate. Some states will ignore it, some states will take it as a suggestion, and the rest are going to see it as a green light.

Sec. 3. (ii): enforce prohibitions on urban camping and loitering.

What exactly will this look like? Telling unhoused people to go somewhere else? Giving them a fine? Jailing them? This seems rather broad and open ended.

im living in kansas city, mo and i can relate with both the homelessness as well as i take meds for anxiety and depression. luckily here they do whats called rapid rehousing and i was able to get in my own apt paid for by private agencies. they also passed law here couple years ago that homeless cant sleep on state property which includes underfreeways, onramps and offramps as well. they even took cement and filled all the places under freeways and such so ppl cant go there nemore. the city also plowed out and over small tents wherre homeless stayed with no notice and threw away all their stuff, blankets, clothes and such during winter weather and several froze to death. the last homeless camp i stayed in while i waited on housing was in busy location with traffic around all sides of small grassy area holding signs to bring awareness to what was happening as 1 of their friends froze to death when caught up in the plowing down of his tent and stuff. i am happy to say i have housing with all utilities paid for the rest of my life as long as follow program requirements and remain in kcmo.... :) i hope everyyone stays safe!!! PEACE, LUV, AND HIPPINESS!!!
