Hey everyone! So I'm going to Japan for 5 weeks but 3 of those weeks I will be staying and exploring with friends in Tokyo. I would like to spend time touring though so I'm dedicating just 2 weeks to just going off to do a small bike tour before having to fly back from Tokyo.

I’ve made it to Japan with basically no questions asked by immigration, with a budget of about $200/mo ($600/88days). I’ve booked myself 1-2 hostel stays per week after the first week or so is over. Any tips when it comes to Tokyo?

How's squatting, hitchhiking, and dumpsters in Japan? Apparently, you can't legally live in the country without a 2 year degree from an American college, but I'm not sure about the penalty if you're caught past the allowed visiting period (6 months, if I can remember correctly).
