I need some suggestions here. Job suggestions, travel suggestions, anything really. I want to get a cool job somewhere in Colorado maybe. I'm in salt lake Utah currently about to head to Moab/Grand junction, I think. is there a place the camping friendly where you can get a job with housing fairly quickly? I can handle the cold weather mostly but if there is a better option somewhere warm or something. honestly I wouldn't mind making enough money to go to Hawaii or somewhere tropical. just let me know what the world has to offer. thank you!

stay at a shelter for the winter. ive had to before. atlanta georgia has a nice shelter. you get fed 3 times a day if u stay in or 2 if you leave after breakfast and come back for supper. but you get to stay in during the day, specially if its snowing. bed is urs for 5 days or 5 years no requirements or payment. food is top notch. clothing donations are top notch , ya know rich people and celebs in atlanta.
best sightseeing, i lived there for 6 months.
but something like that for the winter?

That seems like a pretty plausible idea. Weather is not to bad there right now. What's the name of the shelter?

Lazy Lizard Hostel has rooms aka bunks for $13 @ night.
Tourisim is dead in Moab in winter . Your best bet is lazy lizard all my friends work there and you need a job they trade labor .

Woodys bar also hires out for staff. If you want to go all reclusive you can desert dog it . There are several outlets if your female to get shelter through abused woman I help many when I'm in town I climb there yearly. Just left 3 months ago. Also you can hitch out anytime and hit 70 to grand junction for weed . Hope this helps

No part of me wants to be a home bum but I just want to make this winter go by fairly effortlessly so I can travel in the spring. I stayed in Seattle at a shelter a few years ago it wasn't bad but I want to go somewhere new.

As a wise homebum once told me, and from experience, stay far away from Grand disfunction junction. Sad little college town with a huge home bum violence problem. Every traveler I met myself included ended up getting stuck there. Cops don't fuck around either and will get you on vagrancy charges.

I have a mate out in Pennsylvania who has been trying to find people. She’s strapped in taking care of her kids, but told me to get the word out that she’d let people dock with her. She’s out towards Centrali, Hell on Earth. It’s a good spot up in the Ne during the winter because the ground generates it’s own heat. If you are up that way let me know and I can get you in contact with her

I would avoid shelters like the plague unless you have absolutely no resources and really want to get a job, then you would probably need to shower regularly and get enough sleep at night to make it to work the next day. Southern UT is probably your best bet for now, winters are pretty mild and there's plenty of temp work, you could even camp out in the hills and canyons around there and walk to work or even better get yourself a bike for a few bucks at a thrift store. Moab gets much colder but it might actually be fun regardless of that. It's a tourist town so there's always something going on, I'd stay away from colorado until march or april at the very least unless you have a vehicle but even then most of your time will be spent trying to keep warm. Safe journeys

Moreno valley california is the logistics hub of the US now. Lots of distribution center jobs there and warm weather. I just left there and i worked for harbor freight. They are awesome and will give you all the hours you want.

Support StP!

Donations go towards paying our monthly server fees, adding new features to the website, and occasionally putting a burrito in Matt's mouth.

Total amount
$540.00
Goal
$100.00

Monthly Goals

  1. Paying the Bills
    $50.00 of $50.00 - reached!
The first $50 in donations go towards paying our monthly server fees and adding new features to the website. Once this goal is reached, we'll see about feeding Matt that burrito.
  2. Buy Matt a Beer
    $75.00 of $75.00 - reached!
Now that we have the bills paid for this month, let's give Matt a hearty thank you by buying him a drink for all the hard work he's done for StP. Hopefully his will help keep him from going insane after a long day of squishing website bugs.
  3. Feed Matt a Burrito
    $100.00 of $100.00 - reached!
Now that the bills are paid and Matt has a beer in his hand, how about showing him your love by rewarding all his hard work with a big fat burrito to put in his mouth. This will keep him alive while programming new features for the website.
  4. Finance the Shopping Cart
    $200.00 of $200.00 - reached!
Now that the bills are paid and Matt is fed, perhaps it's time to start planning for those twilight years under the bridge... if only he had that golden shopping cart all the oogles are bragging about these days.

Happy (very) belated Father's day to our Oogle Daddy @Matt Derrick !
Now im housed up in a suite for three days. Two bedroom, two different direction facing balconies, pet friendly, and a kitchen. Thank god for CAA coverage. Smartest thing ive done in months. Covers 600$ worth of lodging and food for 72 hours from "incident". That being my truck being inoperable. This doesnt fix the problem but holy fuck do i need this.
Holy fuck I missed being back out here. Tour’s been fucking amazing so far, and getting to see so many old friends and making some new ones has been fantastic.
Off day between Salt Lake City, UT and Reno, NV today. Gonna try to find a campsite for us tonight and I’m excited to sleep under the stars ✨
Holed up in the shop property for the third day. Fried 6 eggs and made some toast for myself and my dog. Something to spice up the dog kibble life. Poured myself the cheap rum and rootbeer drink. Buddy from the insurance/license place brought me some ice :D But there is no sunshine and rainbows. This is survival. This isnt intagram. It was dark and frustrating and cramped, with that side of lonely. Tomorrow we move.
Looking for a few people to join me in an off grid wilderness community. Have hydroelectric and small solar.
Almost died a fiery horrific death when the wiring crossed an shorted in the camper, had to jump in the water to save my dog from drowning when a current was pulling him under roots and branches (one of the most heartwrenching experiences of my life), and i fucked the engine in my truck on the mountain highways. Repairs are going to be expensive and take long. Thats kindof how my summer is going. Beats jail but just barely
Just covered about 500 mi in 12 hrs by train. Two hot as fuck IMs under a full moon. Only one stop was made...an unexpected siding in the exact place i wanted to be.
