I have made it to dallas from ohio and am crashing with a friend. So for the moment I have got a job at McDonald's to get some money for some new gear and traveling. Once I get me a new bicycle and tent I am wanting to make my way west from northern DFW. I'm probably going to follow 380 for a while. What good places to check out and bad places to avoid as I go? I eventually want to make it to san Francisco and follow the coast to Seattle, but that is far in the future still.

Congrats on getting work!

I'll have two quarter pounders and a large fry:)

I haven't travelled with a bike, but I know some people do. Check all that shit out along the way. Just because somebody else has a crappy experience somewhere doesn't mean you will. If you don't like how things are, pedal on down the road until you feel like resting for a bit.

I just travelled through the panhandle of Texas yesterday, it was a friendly place. The cops gave me rides to the New Mexico border without giving me the whole "we need to run your I.d." Thing.

Highway 40 west will take you all the way to L.A. and there is a pretty wide shoulder the whole way. It's also pretty cool because it's the historic Route 66 route with a lot of things to see and casinos if you're into that.

I didn't know that about route 40, will have to check it out. That's awesome about the cops giving you a ride.

been here about a couple weeks, staying with a friend.
