Hey Everyone!

I asked some people a couple months ago to help me out on my graduate thesis about the traveling community and received some great responses. I am presenting my findings this Saturday in Long Beach at the Pacific Sociological Association. I am trying to stay true to the different aspects of the traveller and the community. I have not written the thesis yet, but will send it out when it is completed.

If there is anything anyone wants to add before I present, please let me know.

Here is a list of themes that I have found out across different travelers:

Houslessness

Values

Benefits of choosing a travelling lifestyle

Reasons for choosing a travelling lifestyle

Becoming too popular

Danger

Drug and alcohol use

Inner group conflict

Police harassment

Relationship with railroad workers

Cities versus rural areas

Barriers

Homeless shelters

Future

Hustles

Community

Technology

I am not focusing on the danger, violence or drug and alcohol use as the main issues. Rather I am focusing on the freedom and values people share while traveling and experiencing humanity. I want to give proper voice to the people that truly live free in an oppressive society.
