@CrowTheBard Did Quinn say he would want to do this? Or did you have someone else in mind? If not, I might know someone with a 27 footer that may be interested....however, he's a trucker and has a weird schedule so in all honesty, I wouldn't depend on him for sure to not cancel at the last minute.

Oh...and there's also the Cap Sante Park that's right near the marina that looks to be pretty forested (albeit hilly) where people who show up a day or two early on foot could perhaps stealth camp if need be, I would think?

@iamwhatiam, I agree that Anacortes is likely the better meet up spot for all the reasons you stated. I’m sure we could figure out a free place for people to park prior to meeting up. Anacortes has easier to reach amenities on foot, and is half the distance to Cypress Island.

I believe that Quinn will be attending and helping to ferry people out as well. I also have two other people here on Lopez with boats whom are solid “maybes” right now.

I may also be able to borrow another boat if we can find a sailor willing to Skipper it.

Any other questions?
This is gonna be so sick!!!

cheers,
Crow

maybe if someone has a few things to donate we can give them away at the jambo?

im also going to bring a bunch of StP merch (stickers/patches/books/etc) to give away.
I’ll start collecting cool stuff from Take It Or Leave It to help bolster the giveaway pool.
I’ll whip up a bunch of cool “sailory” art stuff like lanyards, monkey’s fists, etc over the next few months to add to pile ‘o stuff.

cheers,
Crow

p.s. thanks for tagging me when needed. I haven’t had the time to forum serf lately and appreciate getting the notifications so I can respond in a timely fashion.

fair winds!

It’d be really cool if we actually organized an open mic thing or like had some time to actually designate for music and other performances since you mentioned folks playin music
I’m down to help out, and I could bring some extra instruments and stuff for folks who would be interested
Also this’ll be my first Jambo and I’m literally so fuckin excited lol

Yes! Please bring all the instruments! I want to bring a couple drums and a didgeridoo, maybe some other things if I can find them for cheap

I'm in DC right now but I want to gtfo before summer makes it nasty. Is there any interest in putting together a traveling party for an early trip west? I know @CrowTheBard offered to show me around the boats a while back, but is there any support for folks who want to show up early? I've looked at the Bellingham craigslist but prices for getting housed up that way seems pricey and it looks like the good camping weather doesn't start until June. I could chill in NorCal, Oregon, or other parts of Washington state with good company.

I don't have a vehicle but have got the serious camping gear, can provide for myself, and resources to get out there solo if need be. This might be more appropriate to post under Road Dogs, but I thought if I was out there early I could help setup the jambo with some like-minded folks.

I know it's still being planned and I don't mean to sound demanding at all, so no pressure, but do yall happen to have a rough ETA for when the finalized date might be announced? Or maybe have an "absolute latest" date it would be? I'm just tryin to buy some tickets to the other side of the world soon and wanna try to squeeze this into my itinerary before I head out if possible.

Support StP!

Donations go towards paying our monthly server fees, adding new features to the website, and occasionally putting a burrito in Matt's mouth.

Total amount
$150.00
Goal
$100.00

Monthly Goals

  1. Paying the Bills
    $50.00 of $50.00 - reached!
The first $50 in donations go towards paying our monthly server fees and adding new features to the website. Once this goal is reached, we'll see about feeding Matt that burrito.
  2. Buy Matt a Beer
    $75.00 of $75.00 - reached!
Now that we have the bills paid for this month, let's give Matt a hearty thank you by buying him a drink for all the hard work he's done for StP. Hopefully his will help keep him from going insane after a long day of squishing website bugs.
  3. Feed Matt a Burrito
    $100.00 of $100.00 - reached!
Now that the bills are paid and Matt has a beer in his hand, how about showing him your love by rewarding all his hard work with a big fat burrito to put in his mouth. This will keep him alive while programming new features for the website.
  4. Finance the Shopping Cart
    $150.00 of $200.00
Now that the bills are paid and Matt is fed, perhaps it's time to start planning for those twilight years under the bridge... if only he had that golden shopping cart all the oogles are bragging about these days.
