My best friend and I decided last summer to buy a sailboat together. We had been sailing in a local small rig regatta since we were about 8 years old so now being young adults with some sort of personal income it seemed like the next step. The boat is an albin vega 27 with a great hull. The problem is that the motor, and electrical systems are less than fantastic. It will end up costing us a few thousand dollars extra to fix, which is definitely worth the benefit of living a cruising lifestyle, but it's definitely something to keep in mind while considering sailing as your mode of transportation.

No offense, but this thread neither provides any information, asks a question, or answers one.
