So I introduced myself once and promptly tried to delete my account (thankfully failed), because I'm like that...not really good at social interaction and generally feel out of place. Well...I'm back and giving it the old college try. The short version of my story to catch everyone up is I travelled in my van (I call her the pirate van) from Los Angeles to Klamath falls, to Winnemucca, to Butte, Door county, York, Atlanta, Cape Coral, Jacksonville, Biloxi, New Orleans, Dallas and now I've crash landed in Austin. I've been on my own since June & just looking to make new friends I guess. This has been a rad community since I checked it out, I dunno when. Anyway. Cheers

mostly I pooped in the porta-pottie In the park across the street. I took a few pictures, read Nabokov's short stories, ate some Basque food and caught a shower at the Scottish inn.

Nice, you hade a pican!! I would have recommended The Martin for Basque, a little more down home and very historic, right on the tracks. But both Basque restaurants in town are very nice, Bakarra where you went actually has better food.
