hey gang,
this is david - never hopped a train in my life, but have heard the cry of the whistle through the night and wanted to be on it like nothing else too many times in my life.

now outta desire and necessity, i'd like to ride from Seattle to Chicago to get home...
whattya think - too much for a first timer? or completely do-able? any tips? any absolutes?

just a traveler looking for some kindly imparted wisdom from the do-ers out there.
