I've been looking at some all-leather logging boots, some with steel toe at various sporting goods stores and a couple places like Sears.

These are waterproof, sturdy-looking and have a lot of structure for your foot. Wondering if anyone's ever used logging boots or has an opinion at all on them? Will they be too hot for summer months? Worth it because they keep your feet intact?

I plan on lifting them from a major sporting goods store chain. Any advice?

Thanks

I have two pair. They are heavy, expensive and can be durable. They can also be hot. If you have the balls to take a pair, why not two pair? I bet you'll be running when you hit the door, a second pair probably won't slow you down that much.

You may be able to find some work on CL and trade a day's labor for a pair. Or, maybe fly a sign asking for used boots. Use that cash to get what you need if you aren't suddenly gifted a cheap pair.

On the brighter side, if you get caught stealing them you won't need them where you'll be going:eek:

I never used the ones you are referencing but the name of the thread reminded me of Whites or Hawthornes brand of smokejumper. Killer fucking boots..just watch out for the 'white bite'.
