Okay, for those of you meat eaters ever going through Fresno, you should check out Chris's Meat Market in downtown. Cheap and good Mexican food place, also make a good burger, there is also small grocery store type thing with snack foods and a meat counter. Not far from Greyhound or Amtrak. Spanging outside is decent during the lunch rush since the business district isn't far away and people come for lunch, weekends or afternoons are dead. Can also usually score crack or some really nice buds offa the dealers that frequent the parking lot curb out back. No alcohol sold here though.

There's Tower District near downtown Fresno that is the closest thing to Berkeley or Haight/Ashbury in Fresno. Decent place to hang out, some good food shops, and some cool people that live in the surrounding area. There are two Veggie restaurants and one Vegan one (the vegan one is on the edge of the Tower, but it's a 3 minute walk). Area is kinda artsy, and laid back. Not great for spanging or busking, but it isn't bad at all. Spanging is better over at Fresno City College which is only 4 blocks away. Several good clubs and show venues, always shit happening at night. Couple cheap laundromats. $5.99 for the Tower Special at Bobby Salazars (Chips/salsa, large soda with unltd refills, and a huge damn burrito. I suggest carnitas for you meat eaters).

In my experience Fulton Mall is good for spanging and busking. Also some decent Mexican restaurants.
Runs down Fulton Street between Tuolumne St and Inyo St.

Another couple small bits of info.

FAX busses are $1.00 per ride and you get a transfer that also works for Clovis Round-up
Clovis Round-up are also a $1.00 and you can transfer to FAX lines for free.
Getting free rides is near impossible though.
