What's it like? Specifically, are there anarchistic goings on? Alt library? Intentional communities? Food not bombs? Music? Permaculture? Is there a pulse?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Coming from someone who went thru all major metros in America with 3 exceptions, I think Fayetteville/Springdale is America's best kept secret. I mean it is a great town for alternative people, but hasn't been blown up, so things are affordable and no one is over your shoulder telling you what not to do if you know what I mean. Occassionally you get some oogle fucking up a nice place with their "anyone who quits drinking deserves to die" attitude, my favorite quote:

Climate is decent year round and it's surrounded by mountains, springs, and wilderness. There is even money and a decent economy there if youre into that. Id move there in a heartbeat.
Bump.. NWA Northwest Arkansas. I was gonna make a new thread about Fayetteville / Springdale but this is a good one. What do you guys think of the area for those that have been there? Rogers and Bentonville included. Seems like a damn nice town to live in for cyclists too. My biggest and only real complaint with the area is deer ticks and while the metro area is very tolerant of homeless people and pretty liberal on freedom, as @FrumpyWatkins said the state itself takes a hard stance on even victimless crimes.
