Canvas Vs. Polyester etc. Sleeping Bags

I prefer canvas. I have an old 1944 US Army sleeping bag. It's got an outside waterproof bag and a detachable lining. Dries pretty fast if it gets wet. Pretty warm as well. It is a tint tad bit heavier than my modern polyester one.

What do you girls and guys prefer?

Well your sleeping bag sounds crazy heavy, I use a home made sleeping quilt.

I'd like to hear more about this. Did you make it? And if so, hows it do with moisture? I'd be interested to hear about alternatives to the lightweight-artificial vs heavy-cloth sleeping dilemma.

I am using a light 20 degree bag, artificial. Its pretty awesome in the winter, the cold only cuts through the bag when it gets particularly chilly on trains. Pretty sweaty in the summer, sadly. I have felt the weight of some old army surplus bags, though, and much prefer the lightness of my own.
