Believe this fits here, cause I'm looking for others to join. here or destinations but that didn't seem right..idk please move if wrong area thanks!

Anyways I've been thinking about hiking said trail for a few years now. have done a decent amount of research, and have logged many years on the road full of many death marches. so I feel like I can successfully complete the AT. only 2 issues I foresee is the funds for food for the months it will take, saving money now btw, and the loneliness of the trail.

Used to being able to fly a sign or hit a bum feed, 2 things I'd assume are non existent on the AT. so will have to leave with decent amount of cash for food.

I'll have my dog, hazard, with me. but he only speaks English when I'm super inebriated!

Anyways just seeing if anyone is interested in meeting up and tackling the AT this spring.

would be wanting to go northbound, as I've read that's the easiest route to complete it. save the hardest part for last.
and would like to hit the annuall trail days bash, and not rush through.

Anyways anyone ever completed it, advice critiques , all are welcomed!

A crew would be super fun, but I get that . My biggest issue is just gonna be fundage, working now but just got back to town. so spring may be too early for me also. if I remember correctly NBD shld depart around late March to mid April, SBD june or july.

I have the thru hikers guide for 2016 I think. Tons of good info in it. Probably won't get to the AT anytime in the near future so hmu if you want me to send it to you.
Buying food n shit is a main deterrent for me also. I heard there's a ratfuck box in each town where thru hikers drop their unwanted foodstuff. Wonder if it's possible to live off that shit!

from what I've read trail magic is a thing, just wouldn't rely on that at all., but easiest way ive read is to mail yourselfdrop boxes every few days, helps if you got a reliable friend. dont have to carrgy as much all the time. but also eats up more of the fundage..

Bro you know how highly skilled I am at this .

Clean water source , you and dog, money is not the option . You think army rangers go to McDonald's ?

Food , survive off the wild , roll of fishing line several packs hooks , bait ? Look under rocks for ( helgamites) looks like a twig with rocks and shit all over it .. bait , fish spear , crawfish traps , lucky I'm bored I'm dropping serious Intel here .

Shelter , heavy duty tarp , and or brush trees , a must are following tools

Axe , knife, dental floss and glue ( for wounds , A sharpie to sniff on occasion .fire starter if you are not primitive?

Overall survival rating I'll give you as I know you from travel ( don't take offense to this ) maybe a 6 if alone and 8 if your with someone who knows that area .

When you gonna drop the logistics, strategic plans ? Thanks bro I'll support this mission if you are down still and would maybe wanna start that commune we always discussed ?

You mean fighting bears ? They are so cuddly . McDonald's was my humor there isn't any there . A 6 is a good overall that's high . ( Not as high as the blunt we found off decatur ) lol .
