@Matt Derrick I don't want to blow my spot up yet, but yes I'll release some more information if this idea tickles the collective fancy. I am of course open to going over some more information with you in private first.

If the mining district excursion goes down, I'd be bringing my bus out and I'll be able to haul out fucktons of water and supplies so that we don't have to make too many town runs.

If we need to resupply, or you need some modern comforts, the nearest town to this location is only about a 30 minute drive, with grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, bars, etc, with Joshua Tree National Park and Joshua Tree town directly next to it which offers glorious sight-seeing opportunities, hikes, souvenirs and music events. It's got a very small-town feel, with a big bohemian adventurer personality. Aside from hikes and exploring, we could also do a before or after jambo meet-up somewhere in town to get some grub or go to the saloon together and tear shit up!

The further east you guys take it the more likely I can make it, but I'd love doing a rugged expedition into ghost town territory so *shrugs*

I'm thinking of going this year. I need to pick shit up in slabs anyway so I'm not aposed to that track. It would be cool to do this somewhere new but that is a daunting goal. Even to go beyond rough ideas.

New Orleans seems very promising recently concidering what I've been seeing.

Totally interested here, solved one problem of last year and I'm all geared up - so it's a matter of where and then I go into the planes, trains and automobile creative study area ...

Is there any possible way of moving the dates to mid/Late Nov? Especially if it will be held in the Mohave again?

Thoughts on this from people with oher schedules? Would this screw up some peoples ability to get back to where ever they are going AFTER the Jambo?

Are we RSVP'ing for this yet? I'm like 95% attending. I have to decide whether to bring my vehicle or ride/hitch there.

Especially with the expedition thing happening.

Yes, the Jambo will be over the weekend of November 8th. According to the official jambo info thread, the bus will be leaving the slabs on the 9th and stopping at the Joshua Tree Saloon to pick up anyone that might be coming from that direction.

Would this screw up some peoples ability to get back to where ever they are going AFTER the Jambo?
since folks will have a ride back and forth from the excursion, and it's not too hard to get to/from the slabs, i think folks should be about to get to/from the event before and after without much issue.

I have to decide whether to bring my vehicle or ride/hitch there.
we should be able to fit quite a few people in the bus, but any additional vehicles would be welcome as well depending on how many people show up.

Support StP!

Donations go towards paying our monthly server fees, adding new features to the website, and occasionally putting a burrito in Matt's mouth.

Total amount
$45.00
Goal
$100.00

Monthly Goals

  1. Paying the Bills
    $45.00 of $50.00
The first $50 in donations go towards paying our monthly server fees and adding new features to the website. Once this goal is reached, we'll see about feeding Matt that burrito.
  2. Buy Matt a Beer
    $45.00 of $75.00
Now that we have the bills paid for this month, let's give Matt a hearty thank you by buying him a drink for all the hard work he's done for StP. Hopefully his will help keep him from going insane after a long day of squishing website bugs.
  3. Feed Matt a Burrito
    $45.00 of $100.00
Now that the bills are paid and Matt has a beer in his hand, how about showing him your love by rewarding all his hard work with a big fat burrito to put in his mouth. This will keep him alive while programming new features for the website.
  4. Finance the Shopping Cart
    $45.00 of $200.00
Now that the bills are paid and Matt is fed, perhaps it's time to start planning for those twilight years under the bridge... if only he had that golden shopping cart all the oogles are bragging about these days.
