How do you find a location?

Real estate websites are good for finding vacant houses. Just try to find foreclosures that have been on the market for a few years. Idk how well that will work for ya in LA but its worth a try

    The Future Farm 2013

It's land that doesnt have access to electricity, water/sewage, and is basically just overgrown forest on the mountain side. Some that I was looking at didn't even have road access. I'm assuming that's why its so cheap but for me none of those things are that detrimental.

    The Future Farm 2013

I'm currently saving up to get 10-15 acres in SE TN. Land is super cheap out there, about 1k to 1.5k per acre. I'm down with pooling funds though and getting a larger plot of land. One of my friends is saving up for the same thing also. I was intending on using natural building, and having a few...

    Hawaii

Me and a few friends are thinking about moving out to hawaii and doing a small primitive living group out there, anyone know of what the best islands are for wilderness squatting? Something that isn't tourist hiker central would be nice.

    Hobbit Holes etc

That's wonderful but just because you've been doing something for a long time doesn't mean your good at it or know all the viable methods. A lot of 'natural building' techniques and research are fairly new in a sense, old techniques mixed with modern knowledge.

    Hobbit Holes etc

If you read more you would've known that you have to have an airgap beneath the straw so water won't collect, and the lime plaster/mortar they used is breathable and vapor permeable. Meaning that water wont build up, which means less chance of mold. Also compared to all the carcinogens and other...

    Digging a hole

Peanut Butter, most kids on here seem to lack a lot of foresight and the ability to research on their own so excuse me for trying to be informative and helpful. If you actually have built some already what methods did you use? I'm interested in how you managed to make a 3 story one, from the...

    Digging a hole

Something that deep would be unfeasible without industrial machinery. If you wanna go for more of a hobbit hole/diy typo thing then I'd suggest going out on forested BLM land, at least 20-25 miles from anytown (well maybe not that much but farther out the safer) and digging into a hill. Research...

    Hey, I'm Roots.

Yo, I'm Roots. Train hopped, hitched and bike toured before, Bike Touring definitely my fav out of all of those. Living in Denver at a collective house atm, my friend is saving up for a van to rubber tramp in and I'm saving up for better touring gear. I mainly identify as an anarcho primivitist...
