Good suggestions for a decent knife?

Pretty much infinite budget, as I'm working and classify as an independent, so gas and insurance are no problem for now, and I'm good at saving money. And like I said, as utilitarian as I can get. Decent enough to be useful, scary enough to deter muggers/crazies.

What's your weirdest experience on the road?

That's big yikes. Could've been on something? Bath salts aint no joke. :D

attaching a knife to backpack questions

Clearly the best option here is to just stick the knife into your own stomach for safekeeping. You'll probably be fine, promise.

Good suggestions for a decent knife?

Need something utilitarian that'll hold up a while, I don't want the blade snapping while I do something. Any ideas?

What's the hardest part about starting out?

I'll be the first to admit it really is superficial, for all intents and purposes. But I dunno man, I just like the sound of it :D

What's the hardest part about starting out?

You poor, poor soul. Living it down might be the wrong phrase though. More like KEEP it down... or in. If you catch my drift.

What's the hardest part about starting out?

That’s... big yikes. Sloppy Ankle Pete? How on earth is that a good idea? But aside from that, the allure for me is the ability to re-invent myself. You feel me?

It really is the little things that you miss. Thanks for commenting!

What's the hardest part about starting out?

I’ve done some art for a look for the “moniker”, and I like it! Needs improvement, but I think it’ll be ok. Posting now:

What's the hardest part about starting out?

Probably about right, but I meant specifically about taking the plunge, or preparing for it specifically.

What's the hardest part about starting out?

Title explains it all pretty much. I wanna be prepared for whenever I'm ready to catch out of this shitty town, so tell me what I can expect. (Side question, is Candles a good traveler name? I know some people think they shouldn't be chosen, but I dunno, I kinda like it.)

What's your weirdest experience on the road?

I'd like to hear what I can look forwards to when I get out there... good, bad, uncomfortable, ȗ̵͚͇n̴̡̔̉́̍̈̈̍͠ŝ̵̨̢̊̔̿̈́p̵̡̣͑̆̆̇́̕e̶̡̖̦̹̺̟̦͉͉͎̝̋̆͒̊́̀͊̽̒̔͘̚̚͝͝a̶͖̘̫̟̼̪̼̱̼͉̲͕̽̿̈͛̏͊́͆͛͐̓̐̈́͗́ͅk̷̡̗͙̼͈͔̗̝̉̊̈́͐̃̀́̐̿͆͘̕͜͝͝ä̷̧̢̰̘̮̤̞͖͍̙̤̲̔̚b̷̩̙̅̈̊͑̋ļ̷̱̮̼͜͝e̴̫̪̗̼̺̭̗̠̖̥͓̥̍̈́, anything else. Wish I had...

What taste good with brown beans?

I'm kind of a weird guy, so this may not apply to everyone, but I can stir some sriracha sauce into anything and think it tastes good. I've had it in cereal before... not good, but not as bad as one would think. 0-0

Kansas kid wanting to take the plunge

Thanks for the advice guys. I've got a trip planned this upcoming spring break for a farm out in Franklin county so I can get accustomed to the wilderness. Think I'll attempt to go West, Washington sounds very nice in the summer, and less awful bugs to deal with. I'll write all this down!

Kansas kid wanting to take the plunge

Howdy! I'm here seeking to learn all I can and prepare for the big plunge into ya'lls world. I'm a high school kid at the moment and as soon as I graduate I'm taking some gear and dipping to... somewhere, I guess. Thought about catching out on some tracks near my neighborhood, but after some...

What are you listening to right now?!!!

At the moment I'm discovering some stuff I've never heard before and listening to stuff that's already familiar. Nine Inch Nails, this new jam I like (Back by Andrew Applepie), and some songs written by fellow traveler and excellent youtuber Shiey. He has some wonderful vids of his experiences...
