Just throwing this out there to see if there would be any interest...how many of my fellow Canadian STP members would be interested in having a summer meet up somewhere. Maybe a cheap or free campground somewhere, or another cool spot. Of course our friends from away are welcome to come as well...
It was March of 2021, I had spent the winter living in a shack in the woods close to the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border. After spending the winter there, my mental health was not the best and I needed to get out there and do something to reboot it. Too much time in the woods makes one go a...
Let's see if me fellow long term travelers agree with me.
After some time on the road, sometimes there is something that pushes us off the road. It might be one big event, or several smaller ones but by the end of it, we've had enough. It's time to be responsible, get a job and an apartment and...
Oh my god what a great day. I'm planning to hop my first ever freight train from Amherst to Halifax, so today I was looking for spots near me to catch out, and i met two train track kittys. I met them about a half km apart.
Both were super friendly and wanted all the love in the world.
So, I'm headed for Newfoundland with my dog, and I see on the ferry website that you are supposed to either keep your dog in the car for the whole 7 hr plus ride, and you are not allowed to go to your car, or you are supposed to check in your dog in a kennel in the pet transport area...
So this Tuesday me and my dog are going to begin a hitchhiking trip from Vancouver island to newfoundland. I have a fair bit of experience hitching on Vancouver island, and a bit in Nova Scotia, but none in the rest of canada. Does anyone who has hitched this route recently have any tips? I'm...

The day after Valentines, my wife cheated on me in very malicious ways. So that ended our 6.5 year marriage. Now, unsure of what direction to take my life or what my plans are, I have decided it is time to do one of the ideas have always had....time to give van life a go. It will take me a few...
My friend Mike and I are both laid off and needed to get some travelling out of our systems before we go back to work for the season. We decided to hitch hike to Tofino BC, a surfing town on the west coast of Vancouver island. so we packed a couple days of Mr. Noodles, and cheap granola bars...
