Washing clothing

I'm aware that you weren't trying to be offensive. Just try to remember that we each live in a different "reallity"; what may the most obvious common sense to you may not be so to someone else, as it seems to be the case.

well now im going to sound like a complete asshole. but if finding a way to wash yer ass/clothes is a serious concern that somebody cant figure out then...well shit i dont even know what else to say.

As harsh as you may come off sometimes, it's a respectable approach to teaching sometimes. Some folks are super scared of shit for their own reasons which may not make sense to others. But sometimes it takes some tough love to basically say man the fuck up and figure it out. This life is all about problem solving. Sugar coating minor lessons might make learning more complex skills harder.

And I think that's respectable. I don't think I've seen you say anything that's overtly wrong, so you know your shit. Just some people are just kinda soft. For real, a good road dog will call out your bullshit in a second and won't be afraid of hurting your feelings.

You can call out bullshit without throwing shit at someones face; it's a matter of diplomacy, not being soft. You can be 100% bullshit intolerant but still have that kind of tact. Of course, not only is it a skill, it's also a choice, and sometimes a less apropriate one.
Don't take my intervention as some sort of reprehension or censoring; it wasn't the case.

I think you may have misinterpreted my post. I was only trying to get across the point that there are times when a no bullshit attitude is welcome and necessary. Whether or not this is one of those times is irrelevant since that's not the point I was talking about. And as far as throwing shit in someone's face, I don't know exactly what you mean by that specifically, but I haven't seen that in this thread. Pointing out that someone is green, naive, and asking questions that their experienced road dog should be teaching them, is not throwing shit in their face. It's simply making statements based on the available information.
And sometimes you gotta give no fuck about diplomacy and say what needs to be said. Again, not saying this is or isn't one of those times.

Haha sorry for for contributing to the shit show. Back on track. OP, I would suggest talking to your future road dog about all the questions you asked on here. If his answers are miles away from what you've gathered in your threads then cantcureherpes' warnings will be warranted. And I would suggest not traveling with a guy that's full of shit.

I wear the clothes until they are so disgusting that no one would ever want to touch them, then I just trade them out for new clothes at the goodwill. I just hang up my dirties and put em back on the rack.

I always try to have one dress shirt and one tee at a time.

For my underwear and socks and my camo shorts I got this thing called a zote bar. Its dirt cheap and/or easy to commandeer. Then I wash the undies in the bathroom sink. I've got about 30 pairs of underwear (but no washer/dryer) so I just wash them 1x a month.

85 million+ tons of clothes go the landfill each year in the united states. So I don't feel to bad about it.

I do feel bad for the poor schmuk who finds my filth hanging on the rack but what r u gonna do?

I should have put more information about my question. But my ignorant self didn't. But I know how to hand wash clothing and dry them out. But that's over, my road dawg knows his stuff been asking him 21 questions. Thanks for the advice everyone, I want to thank not my name for giving the advice about keeping the soap out of the water. Wasn't thinking and could have killed wild life. Also, i'm not getting any notifications for these comments.

I use a manually powered washing machine and I fucking LOVE IT. It's small enough to travel with (if you're rubber tramping at least) but big enough to be practical.
