it has been an interesting and fun 7 months on the road. I have traveled from Macedonia to Thailand, then to Maine USA, to North Carolina, to Indiana, To Chicago to attend my 40th high school reunion, then i caught a flight to my current location in Abha, Saudi Arabia. Last evening, taking in the sunset in a grove of acacia trees, the branches are heavy with pods, a nearby flock of doves is cooing and settling in for the evening, and in the distance I can hear the yapping and howling of the wild saluki hunting dogs. From the Middle east to Arizona to Nazca to Morocco, It is a scene that’s played out in every arid region I have visited – with slight variations. I can say with 100% certainty that Deserts are my favorite environment on earth.

From here i will fly to Luzon in the Philippines to meet some Igorot friends for a trek into the central Highlands,Then a visit to the Aeta village near Pampanga. After that my plan is to head back to Thailand and rest up a bit.

Man, you look light on gear, are really adventuring the world, and the way you describe your journey makes it come alive. I am impressed... I don't think I will be forgetting the name Tomahawk anytime soon... Thanks for sharing about your experience.

Thanks Brutha. yeah man, I go light. I either make, find or buy gear as I need it. A "hobo" named "macaroni Jack" told me long ago that you should never have more than you can carry at a dead run.....see you on the trail....Tomahawk
