Wow a lot of really long posts...the truth is you are a little girl and if you runaway and start traveling you will learn a lot of really hard lessons really fast. People WILL take advantage of you in every way possible. Being a traveling ADULT girl is an extremely tough thing to do, let alone being 15. Girls who have been on the road any longer than a couple years are extremely tough women, women who arent afraid of fighting grown men twice their size. Anyone who condones you running away is completely irresponsible. If you really cant live at home and wont get in a youth program, find a group of friends you trust completely who will look out for you. Ive been on the street since i was 13 and i would highly recommend staying in your home city where you have support and know the game. Traveling to new cities is dangerous even if you have YEARS of experience on the street. The game is different everywhere and when you show up in a new city you have to learn the ins and outs all over again. Do NOT take off with someone you met on the internet. Unlike what some people will tell you travelers are not a caring, loving group of people, myself included. Theres a lot of sick fucks in our community. If you do leave be prepared to have your life suck for a long time until you get older, wiser and tougher. Please be careful im sick of hearing about young kids ending up dead on the streets and the rails because they just didnt know what they were doing. I hope the best for you please be smart and stay in la until your older.

i would disagree with a lot here. i ran away for the first time at 13 or 14 and got caught fast, my brother left home at 16 or 17 and made it, working. luckily my folks eventually came to grips with my direction in life, i dropped out at 15, started travelling at 15, working full time for a contractor at 15.
There is a lot of danger for teenage girls and women on the streets. Most take on a boyfriend as a protector. The shitty thing is when the guy who is supposed to be protecting them starts using them for money, to feed his drug addiction, sexually exploits them and mistreats them. It happens a lot. The protector becomes the abuser. Happens a lot.

Heya, there was a lot of good advice on this post, I don't know what happened at home to make you feel that way and I'm not going to call you spoiled or anything because it isn't wrong to be unhappy with something.

But the thing is you are young and some people will try to take advantage of thaaaaat. Please please PLEASE read up on this kind of life. Everyone takes to it differently. Being stuck in a house full of shitty people is awful but so is being alone on the street with shirt people. You still have a few years of school left SO MILK IT. MILK THAT SWEET COW WHILE YOU CAN. The diploma doesn't mean shit unless you're after something specific. School will always be there if you want it but it'll only be free right now. Free food, libraries, art supplies, books, friendships that may or may not last for very long. Just enjoy the nest while you can. Another cool thing about highschool is that there are services/centers for teens. You probably have a few friends. I also utilized friends (they were very good people, I dont mean it that way) parents and basically lived at other people's houses when stuff got crummy or I felt alone.

And dude, your folks are people too. Just talk to them if you can. They aren't going to be around forever and while they may not be great parents they could at least be decent ...pals?

Just be safe.

If you cannot quickly and honestly answer this question, then you are too young to live on the streets:

WHERE WERE YOU ON 9/11????
