  • I'm moving to SLC after all of this is over. It's like a cheap Seattle.

...except swap out the water for mountains and the coffee-sipping bohemians for coffee-eschewing cultists.
New Mexico provides me with my first experience camping on BLM land! Though, I wound strongly suggest against swimming in Lake Holloman.
Texas is full of things that can kill me and I don't think that's great.

So is LA but you weren't scared there. At least we put locks on our bathrooms!
The Smoky Mountains are beautiful but Tennessee is not very kind.

It's incredibly stressful breaking down a campsite in the relentless downpour of the smokies the morning after a 12 mile hike, but hey, a boy has to learn at some point, right?

Alls well that ends well. I'm living a dope life though.
Because tramps like us—baby, we were born to RUUUNNN.

(Congratulations, today's the day you graduate from simple slut to full-blown tramp.)

@ClashCityRkr "Left Jersey for the last time". I remember that day, for me. I stepped onto the Mid-Town direct train in Maplewood Station, 20 years ago; never returned. May the road (and rail) rise to meet you!
"And what about your friends? Don't you love them enough to stay?" And I say, "If I don't leave now then I will never get away. Let me be a blue raft on a blue sea, i'll blend right in."
Just a month and a half of all this nonsense left.

My route consists of various cities and national parks. At some point, given my time constraints and finances, I decided to get my license back. So I am now driving for 6 months, the majority of which will be camping at night and lingering around places for as long as I feel.

Still developing plans to hop freight. If only just to say i did during the trip. Given recent developments though I doubt i'll have to hitch.

Also, i'm aiming to hit the slabs for a night or two in early-mid July. Preliminary. Plans subject to sudden change.
One day you'll be washing yourself with hand soap in a public bathroom. And you'll be thinking, "How did i get here? Where the hell am I?" If the roles were reversed you coulda seen me sneaking up, sneaking up from behind.
