Featured How to Cure a Staph Infection

I'd like to add that certain fungal infections can appear to be staph infections; you'll find that honey (provides more food) and antibiotics (kills competing bacteria) will actually make that sort of infection worse, and tea tree oil will do essentially nothing. This isn't common, but certain...

    being trans/transitioning on the road

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but can we expand this topic to give resources to anyone who is or wants to transition, who is in a hostile environment? There seems to be a lot of teen suicides and I think we can all agree that hitting the road is preferable to dying by ones own hand. Maybe...

what i learnt camping this winter

Pulleys and paracord are your friend, next time you need to drag logs around! Also, you can warm rocks (not from a river) in the fire and put it below your bed (carefully) in order to keep warm. edit: I meant burying hot rocks below your sleeping bag/blanket in a shallow hole, and you can...

    what's in your med kit?

I guess I'm the only one rocking a tourniquet and some hemostatics for serious bleeding. Butterfly closures are great, I've found them in pharmacies as of late, so they are becoming more common, though if you really need something stitched together, I'd go with a medical stapler before I fool...

    knife tips

I have a few words of advice, one is to make it obvious that you've pulled a knife, usually people will break off contact when they realize that they're going to get cut up messing with you. The loud click sound is one of the few advantages of a folding knife compared to a fixed blade for this...

How to keep safe as women when squatting/tenting out?

This is my post for camping: https://squattheplanet.com/wilderness-survival/survival-guides/threads/wilderness-squatting-101.1821/ Feel free to add to it. My main tactic on safety was stealth, and for five years it worked out. Secondary tactic was speed, knowing how to run quickly in dark woods...

Keeping Warm, Warming/Insulation for squats in the winter

Okay, its starting to get cold again, so even if your boots are super warm, take them off when you're sleeping in the cold- DO NOT SLEEP WITH BOOTS ON. The reason is blood circulation, if your toes don't get enough, they will be frostbitten, warm boots notwithstanding. Also, when you sleep, do...

Keeping Warm, Warming/Insulation for squats in the winter

I forgot to mention that pallets can be used for insulation, as a framework, once you stuff them with something- newspapers for indoors, plastic bags for outside. Bags of packing peanuts are good, though not too close to wooden pallets, since the bags will catch on them and tear.

Well, you'll also have to factor in what kind of activities you'll be doing. I prefer thinner pants which I can wear thermals under instead.
